Briercrest Celebrates Two Successful Giving Days, But Help Still Needed
As the year draws to a close, we are thrilled to share the results of another extraordinary season of Giving Days at Briercrest! These special days are a time for the community to come together to support the mission of providing Christ-centered education and to celebrate the generosity that fuels it.
Your gifts have a profound impact on students, helping to reduce tuition costs and making education more accessible. Currently, Briercrest students cover approximately 89% of their educational expenses, with the remaining 11% generously provided by alumni, parents, and friends like you. This partnership ensures students can focus on growing in faith and academics without being overwhelmed by financial burdens.
Giving Day Results and Impact
There were two giving days this year in which the following was donated:
- June 20th: Our goal was $50,000, and $93,160 was given.
- December 3rd: Our goal was $100,000, and $98,901 was given.
The bulk of these donations go directly to the Education Fund. This fund plays a vital role in enhancing the student experience on campus by supporting initiatives such as student government, student activities, and intramurals. It also ensures that we can hire highly reputable faculty members who bring expertise and passion to their teaching. Beyond that, the fund is essential for providing students with the quality education, support, and resources they need to thrive academically and personally.
Each contribution is a tangible expression of faith, generosity, and commitment to God’s work. This year's heartfelt giving from alumni, parents, students, and friends has truly made a difference.
Because of you, lives are being changed, and Briercrest's mission continues to grow stronger.
The Opportunity to Finish Strong
While we celebrate this remarkable generosity, the need remains great.
To close out the year well and continue advancing our mission, we are seeking $725,000 in further donations. Every dollar goes directly toward empowering students to pursue Christ-centered education and fostering growth in a Christian community.
We are incredibly thankful for the generosity of donors who have already contributed. Your support has been an incredible blessing and a reminder of what we can accomplish together.
Michael Pawelke, President of Briercrest, expressed his gratitude to all of our donors:
We are profoundly grateful for each of you who contributed to these giving days. Your generosity reflects God’s faithfulness and ensures that lives are transformed through Briercrest’s Christ-centered education. While we’re deeply encouraged by the progress, we still need your help to reach our year-end goal of $725,000, ensuring this mission continues to grow.
For the first Giving Day in June, 90 unique donors made donations, 29 of whom were first-time or returning donors. For the December 3rd Giving Day, 92 people gave, including 28 first-time or returning donors. Two $10,000 gifts were given, one of which was from a first-time donor. An anonymous donor generously matched contributions from first-time donors, as well as donations from those who last gave prior to 2021.
