Clippers Men's Hockey Heading to Alaska

The Briercrest Clippers men’s hockey team is preparing for an exciting and challenging venture as they travel to Alaska this fall. Departing on Wednesday, September 24 and returning on Monday, September 29, the team will face two NCAA Division 1 opponents in a unique and competitive setting.
On Friday, September 26, the Clippers will face the University of Alaska Anchorage before taking on the University of Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday, September 27. This trip represents another remarkable opportunity as the program continues to grow, offering players the chance to test themselves against high-calibre competition while experiencing a unique journey and team adventure.
Beyond the competition, the six-day trip will focus heavily on fostering team relationships and personal growth. With plans for team-building activities and exploration, the Clippers aim to make this trip a well-rounded experience for everyone involved. Additionally, the team is exploring opportunities to organise community ministry outreach during their time in Alaska, further reflecting the shared Christian values of unity, service, and purpose.
“The challenge of coordinating a trip of this scale is significant, from the logistics of transporting 30 players and their equipment to Alaska to preparing for the two games against Division 1 teams. However, we view these challenges as opportunities to grow together as a team and represent Briercrest both on and off the rink,” said Carter Duffin (Men's Hockey Head Coach).
This trip builds on the success of the Clippers’ earlier venture to Colorado College (NCAA Div 1) last fall. The Clippers will continue to look for more opportunities to travel and play at the highest level possible. Alaska was selected as the ideal destination for this season, providing the eClippers with two games against NCAA Division 1 teams and an opportunity to deepen relationships within the team.
The Briercrest Clippers continue to equip student-athletes for success, not simply on the ice but in life. Guided by Christian values, this trip embodies the goals of mentorship, service, and character development that are central to Briercrest's mission.
